I’m Ashley, I’m a twenty-something wife and food enthusiast. This is my blog about all things food. I love to eat, love to cook, love to read cookbooks, love to entertain, and love to talk about food. Simply put, I love delish food.
I began food blogging in November 2006. It started out as a tiny effort to share recipes with a couple friends who wanted to learn to cook but somehow, blogging took off and I now get visitors from all over the world!
The Food
My inspiration comes from a lot of places. I’m a born and raised Texan so I love Tex-Mex and southern food. My mom was born & raised in Taiwan and so I love home-style Chinese food. Unfortunately, I rarely cook Chinese food because I don’t know how (I need to work on mom regarding that one!). I also really love Italian food, and I’m exploring other ethnic foods at home.
I believe in simple ingredients and natural organic cooking. You’ll occasionally find a quick fix meal or appetizer involving something like crescent rolls, but generally these are not things you find in our kitchen. I purchase largely organic & natural products. I’d probably be growing my own veggies if the Texas heat wasn’t so unbearable (maybe some day)! I’m learning and trying to find a balance between my love of food, the ever growing waist line, the likes & dislikes of my “meat and potatoes” husband, and my desire to live a healthier life through all natural & organic cooking.
About the Recipes
All the recipes on this site have been tested by me, typically more than once. Many have been created right in my kitchen, some come from my cookbooks (some adaptations), and some are found on food sites and other blogs. I always site my sources! You can find a full list of my recipes by checking out my Recipe Index. You can also find an inventory of my cookbooks by checking out my store.
Comments & Contact
My blog is a hobby. I try to ensure there are no typos, errors, omissions or broken links. But… well, I have a full time job and other hobbies! So it wouldn’t be unfounded for there to be a mistake, or two, or three on the site. Please feel free to contact me if you notice anything! I am always looking for ways to improve my site; if you have any ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear from you!

I just had to laugh a little at this – I just came across your blog today and looking at the first paragraph of your bio, it could be MY bio (except my blog started in August 2006)…I can’t wait to try some of your recipes!
Sincerely,
Another twenty-something wife and food enthusiast named Ashley
I was born and raised in College Station, I actually recently graduated (May 2007) from Consol and left for Austin. I’ve always been a foodie and I’ve recently began food blogging and applying myself to become a food writer. So just wanted to say one fellow Cstat foodie to another. What are your favourite restaurants around town?
Thanks, Ashley. I am sure glad you have a ” hobby” Tom
